Born in Chicago, Illionis, on 1st July 1963, Susan ‘Sue’ Aikens is 59 years at present.
As per her sayings on “The Ellen Show,” she first went to Alaska with her mother at 12 years and has since been learning survival techniques in the freezing land. So impressed by her determination, survival skills and courage, National Geographic approached her to be a part of “Life Below Zero.”
Apart from the show, she has also been featured on shows including “Flying Wild Alaska,” “Life Below Zero,” and the most recent, “Panama.”
Likewise, Sue also owns Kavik River Camp, which provides services like camping, hunting, fishing and many more to the people who visit the High Arctic.

While the television personality has gained massive success in her career, it seems she has no luck with love. She was initially married to a man and was leading a harmonious life, but unfortunately, he died after battling a brain tumour.
After some years, she exchanged vows with Eddie James on 13th June 1987. They had 3 children, 2 daughters and a son, and the family lived in Oregon. However, after remaining married for 17 years, Sue and Eddie decided to end their married and go on seperate paths.
After her second marriage failed, he went to Alaska to live alone but soon returned to Oregon after knowing that her ex-husband had died.
Finally, she got married again, but the marriage failed shortly after her spouse left her for another woman.

Sue’s Facebook bio claimed she was engaged to her fiance, Michael G. Heinrich.
She often featured her fiance with lengthy captions on her social media handles.
According to one of Sue’s Facebook posts in 2020, it was found that the couple did long distance relationship as she lived in Kavik and Michael lived in New York.
On the post, she appreciated her fiance upon earning a yellow belt in Haganah. And she ended her post by saying,
“You did it, Michael!!!! Go you!! And may WE keep doing it… Go us ❤️ Love you and miss you, Rooster.”
In the same year, she posted a series of photos with Michael on Instagram and wrote,
“You have to stop and make time to give a moment to your sweetie. Long distances can be tough, but we both make it work. Love you, sweetie.”
So with all this, we can feel that the pair shared an extraordinary love. However, while fans were waiting for the pair to announce their marriage, the news of their separation shocked them.
We believe the pair separated in 2023 as Sue was found informing one of her fans about their separation in Facebook’s comment section. In the comment, she said that Micahel has a whole and busy life on East Coast.
One of her fans on Facebook said that she felt very sorry to hear about their separation and asked if there was a way she may meet Sue in New York. To this, the TV personality said that she may still bump into her in New York someday.
“And while the split wasn’t what i had wanted, we can be judged more by the Grace with which it has happened. He has a great life ahead of him! I am still proud of all his achievements,”
she added.
