In an early episode of Pierre Edwards\u2019 podcast<\/u><\/a>, Rickey Smiley appeared to talk about his divorce from his former wife, Brenda Morris, after 12 years of their marriage.<\/p>\n

Following their separation, Smiley has remained single, so he doesn\u2019t have anyone to refer to as his wife as of 2023.\u00a0On the other hand, Brenda moved on and tied the knot with her second husband, Tarius.<\/p>\n

In a conversation with Pierre, the Birmingham-born comedian shared that when the two got married (back then), Brenda began working for Delta Airlines<\/u><\/a>, where she is still a flight attendant.<\/p>\n

He also stated,<\/p>\n

\u201cShe still flies for Delta, I jump on the plane every now and then and she\u2019s working. We’re cool.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

After a short time, Smiley posted a video to his YouTube channel<\/u><\/a> in May 2022 under the title, \u201cReason Why My Ex-Wife Didn\u2019t Take My Last Name,\u201d revealing his former spouse didn\u2019t change her name during their marriage.<\/p>\n

According to Rickey, \u00a0Brenda never took his surname, but he also clarified that it wasn\u2019t intentional. He remarked, \u201cShe just never got around to it.\u201d It was also due to her work for Delta that she didn\u2019t take his surname.<\/p>\n

\u2018Super Bowl Gospel Celebration<\/u>\u2019 co-host Rickey Smiley is the father of five children – his biological kids are D\u2019Essence Elizabeth, Malik, Aaryan Smiley, and Brandon \u2013and his adopted one is Craig Smiley.<\/p>\n

Sadly, Rickey\u2019s son Brandon (32) is no longer in this world. Reportedly, he was discovered unconscious in his Birmingham house, but the actual cause is yet to be uncovered.<\/p>\n

On 30 January 2023, the television host shared on Instagram <\/u><\/a>that he lost his eldest son, Brandon. Also, he asked his admirers to pray for his whole family, including his son\u2019s mother, Brenda.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s painful for Rickey to face this terrific incident. Three years ago, he also lost his daughter, Aaryn, who was killed during a road rage accident in July 2020.<\/p>\n

On the latest episode of the Tamron Hall Show<\/u><\/a>, Rickey opened up that his granddaughter helped him to cope with \u201cthe most difficult day of his life,\u201d referring to his son\u2019s funeral day.<\/p>\n

The father of four says, \u201cGod is good. He let me just end my day by pushing my granddaughter on the swing.\u201d Further, he added his grandkids are now healing his heart in different ways.<\/p>\n
